Rails가 PHP를 대체할 수 있을 것인가?

ruby가 PHP를 2년안에 대체할 수 있을 것이라며 다음과 같은 근거를 제시하고 있다.

PHP's object oriented design has some serious shortcomings
Ruby appears (to me) to be OO Perl, which was way cool to use back in the day.
Ruby has a rabid user community perhaps even more so that PHP‘s in the early days.
Ruby (with Rails) appears to be powerful enough for most websites
The setup of mod_ruby or WebBrick seems to be quite like setting up mod_perl or cgi with CPAN except that it goes much smoother.

ruby on rails가 웹 어플리케이션 개발용 언어로 PHP를 완전히 대체하기는 힘들 것으로 보인다. 그 동안 PHP가 쌓아논 유저 커뮤니티도 무시 못 할 테니..
하지만 ruby on rails의 영향력이 커질 것 같다는 생각은 든다.
